You may have been contemplating therapy for some time or perhaps you are going through a transition in your life, facing a difficult decision, or simply feeling lost, depressed, anxious, or just generally out of sorts.
I believe that we all have essential wisdom that can guide us on the road to healing and to living a vibrant and authentic life.
I view my role as being a companion along the way to help you reconnect with your own innate wisdom and knowledge, whereas we all can become disconnected, whether from trauma, suffering, or too much distraction.
This can rob you of the inner quiet necessary to view your life sanely. We must give ourselves the space to long for and hunger for that deeper aspect of ourselves; therapy is one path to accessing that space.
I view symptoms as messengers that have something to say if one can become still enough and curious enough to listen. Symptoms offer us an opportunity, if taken, to reorient our lives, to pay attention to what life is asking of us; to listen for that which is calling us. They are asking us to become present to ourselves.
My approach is to work relationally while bringing a depth psychological perspective to the process. The task is not necessarily to eradicate symptoms but rather to grow in inner strength and maturity in such a way that one’s capacity to navigate and make meaning from the inevitable suffering of human life begins to grow and expand.
By creating a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment, I provide a space for individuals to begin to unearth self‑defeating behaviors and patterns and begin to access their own inner wisdom.
